All farmworkers, unions and agricultural employers are covered by the Agricultural Labor Relations Act, a farm labor law enacted in 1975, which describes and protects the rights of farmworkers to make their own decisions about unionization without interference by growers or unions. The ALRB is the State agency established to assure that this law is enforced. The law applies to all employees regardless of immigration status.

Todos los trabajadores agrícolas, sindicatos y empleadores agrícolas están cubiertos por la Ley de Relaciones Laborales Agrícolas, una ley laboral agrícola promulgada en 1975, que describe y protege los derechos de los trabajadores agrícolas a tomar sus propias decisiones sobre la sindicalización sin interferencia de los agricultores o los sindicatos. ALRB (La Ley Laboral) es la agencia estatal establecida para garantizar que esta ley se cumpla. La ley se aplica a todos los empleados independientemente de su estatus migratorio.
